Shiny no Frizz Hair: Use Natural Henna w/ Sesame Oil. Can't find any? I go to "LUSH" stores in London/Scotland to buy mine but you can also visit www.lush.com. I have also seen Henna in "Bath and Body Works" stores. This one I haven't tried. I can honestly say I had tried everything (other than Henna). All those stupid commercials showing models flinging their hair over their shoulders make me disgusted now (well they kinda always did). They never did a damn thing that they proclaimed. I wanted to dye my hair without adding chemicals and stumbled into a LUSH store. The lady said it "would also make my hair shiny". I thought she was trying to sell it. I tried it and was only able to leave it on for two hours (recommended 5-6). I got a little color but all of my frizz that I had been fighting for years just disappeared. I didn't even care that my hair was shiny. I tried it again a few days later to get the dyed color effect that I wanted and now I can't help but swear by it. Others have mentione using raw eggs in your hair. Sounds like another commercial to me but if you have tried it and it worked, let me know. Submitted by: Author of this website/Shannon Kendall
Bee Stings: One home remedy that does work - it is actually an old Indian trick. If you get stung by a bee, take wet tobacco and hold on the wound and the tobacco will draw the poison out and stop the stinging. Submitted by: RPC Brock
This is a British Remedy: Use "doc leaves" to cure the sting. They are found in country coastal paths of England and my back garden in Pentire. Just rub it on. Submitted by: Daniel Bees and my garden
Remove Wax from Fabric: Take brown paper (shopping bags) and with a heated iron, brush the needed size of paper over the area of hardened wax with the iron. Throw away the paper after the first use and tear off another piece and repeat application. Submitted by: Jody Murphy (mother of three)
Gum in Hair/Fabric: Freeze the gum with an ice cube or if on fabric and small enough, place it in a freezer. After it is frozen it will flake away with a little effort. Another trick for hair is to apply peanut butter. The oil will break down the consistency of the gum base. Nine times out of ten the child will have cut their own hair before you caught them anyway but if you get there in time these measures will work. Submitted by: Shannon Kendall
Stains on any Washable Fabric: Spray with hairspray let dry then wash keep repeating until stain is gone without drying item. Heat from dryer will set the stain. Submitted by: Laura Lloyd
Stuck Zipper: Rub with soap. Submitted by: Jody Murphy
Onion Smell on Hands after chopping: Rub hands on any stainless steel item and smell will go away. Submitted by: Jody Murphy
Sick Stomach: Anything peppermint will soothe a sick stomach. Submitted by: Jody Murphy
Sick (with Vomiting) : Eat: bananas, toast with jam but no butter, baked potato with salt but no butter, jello after it has been made but not put in the fridge just drink it the gelatin is good for soothing a sick stomach and the warmth of it will not upset an already sick stomach. Set either 7-up, sprite or ginger ale out until it is warm and flat( no bubbles left) to drink. Don’t drink any carbonated or cold drinks as it will upset you more and make you burp. Don’t eat anything greasy including soup if you are throwing up this will make you feel worse. Submitted by: Jody Murphy
Car Sickness: Ginger ale or ginger cookies. Submitted by: Jody Murphy
Hiccups: I know there are many many so call remedies for the hiccups, but try this and you too will see that it works. Take a breath, hold and take 13 swallows of water. 9 times outta 10 it will work the first time but if not, try it again and they will be gone. I was taught this at age 12 and have done it ever since. I hate the hiccups. Submitted by: Cari Brown

Hemmorhoids and Anal Fissures: Stop eating meat! Eat only fish and chicken if you prefer for protein. Drink one teaspoon of mineral oil twice a day. Cut back on any extreme dietary fiber. But do eat some for health reasons of course. And drink plenty of Vitamin C drinks. Also try drinking herbal teas (called Tummy teas). As for the pain, go with the latest and greatest tube type stuff that they sell on the shelf. Also, add fresh garden herbs to your meals (esp. parsley). But first and foremost, go see a doctor! All of these techniques really worked for me. I was cured in about a week or two. But, I try to stick to this regime as much as I can. Occasionally I have beef but only in the ground up state. Jelly Fish/Sea Nettle Sting: Use someone else's urine on the sting. (Good luck) Submitted by: Shannon and Jody
Flu/Colds/Bronchitis:
Anything spicy like cayenne
or habanera peppers - it will act on your throat just as hard honey would, but
heal your throat and lungs faster than honey. If you can't eat much solids (if
you have the flu), put some cayenne powder in some sort of tomato based soup -
make sure you but enough to make you sweat. This should take care of the
congestion as well. If you can get your hands on some calamus root (the "cat
tail's cousin), this would also help (but don't smoke cigarettes while taking
calamus). Believe or not, a shot of warm brandy or two should put you to sleep
when you're sick. The alcohol gets to you faster when you're feverish, and
should knock you out without getting drunk.
So, warm booze to sleep,
A bunch of cayenne to fix
anything related to congestion, the throat (yes even strepth throat) or the lungs.
p.s. Eating regular
doses of hot (spicy) foods during fall and winter boosts the immune system
enough to not catch colds in the winter. Thank my grandfather when it works, not
me...
edit: if you
can get your hands on sweet grass it will reduce the fevers. (you can get it
from some native stores, though I didn't see any when I was out west)

Headache: Sleep, soporifics (probably misspelled), and spices or herbs
which make your brain produce opiate-like chemicals... but, the only that come
to mind grow here, or cayenne once again does this... But if you can't sleep,
can't eat cayenne, can't get the herbs in my back yard.... you're shit out of
luck!!!
Just
kidding, try leaning your head against stuff 'till the pulsing goes away
naturally, have small amounts of rich chocolate, and switch your drinks from hot
(temperature) to cold.

Make your own Vicks Rub: Vicks are not really a "home" remedy... and does contain eucalyptus, so why not cut the pharmacy middleman and mix oil, alcohol and/or menthol, and eucalyptus essence and make your own Vicks Vapor Rub? Try the cayenne, it's kept me healthy for years.

Sarcastic Humor: (Not a Cure)
1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic.
Simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat and presto. The blockage
will be almost instantly removed.
2. Clumsy? Avoid
cutting yourself while slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them
while you chop away.
3. Avoid arguments with the
Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by simply using the sink.
4. For high blood
pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus
reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.
5. A mouse trap,
placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going
back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
6. If you have a bad
cough, take a large dose of laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.
7. Have a bad
toothache? Smash your thumb with a hammer and you will forget about the
toothache.
It's important to remember to laugh.
